Funeral services for Mrs. Wayne (Florence) Thurston, 64, were held at Wilton Sept. 19 with the Rev. G. W. Ukena officiating. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery, Wilton. Pallbearers were Walter, Herbert, Clark, Lester and Leo Askam, all brothers, and Donald Birkhofer.

Mrs. Thurston died at Muscatine General hospital Sept. 16.

The daughter of Clark and Emma Finley Askam, she was born at West Liberty May 24, 1922. She was married to Wayne Thurston in Wilton March 30, 1940. She retired from Bendix Corp. of Davenport in 1978.

She is survived by her husband; her brothers and 2 sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Wilma) Fiagle, Moline and Mrs. Howard (Betty) Birkhofer, Wilton. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters.
