Funeral services for Ralph Lenz, 79, West Liberty, were held July 15 at Sorden's chapel, Lone Tree, with the Rev. William Keller officiating. Burial was in the Lone Tree cemetery.

Mr. Lenz died July 12 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

The son of Bernard and Christina Herring Lenz, he was born Nov. 30, 1906 in Lone Tree. He worked in a machine shop in Muscatine and also farmed in the Lone Tree and Muscatine areas. He was also a Quadrangle employee in Iowa City.

Mr. Lenz is survived by a grandchild, 3 great-grandsons; 3 brothers, Raymond Lenz, Cincinnati, Ohio; Walter Lenz, North Liberty and Arthur Lenz, Lone Tree and a sister, Gertrude Fountain, Lone Tree. He was preceded in death by a daughter.
