Funeral services for Cecil M. Wathan, 67, were held at Gloria Dei Lutheran church, Durant, April 11 with the Rev. L. Jack Ehlers officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery. Mr. Wathan died at University hospitals, Iowa City, April 8.

The son of Edward and Mary Hamer Wathan, he was born in Muscatine county Dec. 18, 1917. He was married to Grace Petersen at Cedar Rapids Nov. 1, 1941.

A farmer, he was a director of the Blue Grass Savings bank. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Joe and Don, Wilton; a daughter, Ann Grau, Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, James, Miami, Fla.; 2 sisters, Dorothy Merveaux and Gladys Wathan, Cedar Rapids and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
