Funeral services for Oma Chelf, 72, Davenport, and formerly of West Liberty, were held Aug. 20 at the West Liberty United Methodist church, with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Chelf died Aug. 16 at University hospitals in Iowa City following an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 26, 1911 in Muscatine county to Louis and Arcey Williams Dalton. She was a life resident of West Liberty, moving to Davenport 2 years ago. She married William Chelf Jan. 22, 1927 in Rock Island, Ill.

Mrs. Chelf was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist church and the Adah Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by a son, Donald, Buffalo, N.Y.; 2 daughters, Dorothy Chelf, Davenport and Mrs. Orma (Darlene) Heick, West Liberty; 4 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. Nellie Klotz, Columbus Junction and Mrs. Nina Rieke, Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, a sister and a brother.
