Marian (Gilles) Johnson was born on February 26, 1917 at Stacyville, Iowa, along with a twin brother, Vernon, to Roy and Theresa (Seibert) Gilles.

She attended grade and high school at Stacyville, Iowa, graduating in May 1933.

After graduation she was employed in Osage, Iowa and then attended Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for Nurses Training. She was a member of the Nurse Cadet Corp from 1944 to 1945. After graduating from Nurses training she served at Winter General Hospital, Topeka, Kansas from April 1945 to September 1945.

She was married to Leo M. Johnson of Austin, Minnesota. Mr. Johnson passed away October 21, 1968.

Mrs. Johnson was employed at St. Olaf Hospital, Austin, Minnesota for many years and retired several years ago. She is active as a volunteer for Birthright in the Austin, Minnesota area.

They are parents of six children. She resides at 714 10th Ave. in Austin.
