Omer Virgil Andeway, 84, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday at his home. Service will be 10:30 Saturday at the Powers Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Gilbert Visser officiating. Interment: Wymore Cemetery in Mahaska County. Family visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home.
He was born April 20, 1913, in Monroe Township to Bastian J. and Huldah Pearl Wymore Andeway. He graduated from What Cheer High School in 1931. He married Emily Evelyn Seibert on Dec. 23, 1933, at Montezuma.
He sold livestock and Funk's "G" seed corn, became a licensed real estate broker in 1941 and operated the Rocky Road Relics Antique Shop in Rose Hill with his wife for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife: Emily of Oskaloosa; four children and their spouses: Lee and Diane Andeway of Oskaloosa, Joyce and Patrick Danley of Silvis, Ill., Janet and Ray Poe of New Sharon, Joan and Wayne Mednick of Woodland, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; a brother: Lloyd Andeway of Centerville and a sister: Lucille Davis of Promise City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, a great-grandson and his sister Evelyn Andeway (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
