Mrs. Eva Katherina Wiederrecht, an aged resident of Louisa County, passed away Saturday morning at the home of her son, P. G. Wiederrecht, in Jefferson township. She had been in falling health for some time past and death was not unexpected. All that loving hands could do to prolong her life was done but with no avail and on Saturday morning she peacefully passed away. Mrs. Wiederrecht was 88 years of age at the time of her death. She had been married 65 years and her death was the first to occur in the family, all three of her children, all her grandchildren and her aged husband surviving to mourn her death.

Mrs. Wiederrecht was born in Germany November 27, 1826. When 23 years of age she came to this country and was married to Phillip Wiederrecht in 1849. For a time they resided in New York near Buffalo and then in 1865 they came west settling in Jefferson township. Here they resided until 1890 when they removed to Wapello. Two years ago Mr. Wiederrecht and Mrs. Wiederrecht went to the home of their son Phillip, to spend their declining years. She is survived by her aged husband and three children, Katherine, wife of Kossuth Potter, of Wapello; Phillip G. Wiedrrecht of Jefferson township and William Wiederrecht of Davenport. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home, conducted by Rev. D. Froeschle, of the Grace M. E. Church, of which she had long been a member. Interment in the Harrison cemetery.
