At about 2 o'clock Tuesday morning occurred the death of Alonzo Hart at his home in north Wapello near the fair grounds. Deceased had been confined to his home for the past month with a complication of diseases from which he never recovered. Nearly all his life has been spent in this community, where he has always held the esteem and confidence of all who knew him. He was always a faithful worker in whatever he was employed. His loss will be sadly felt by his family and a large circle of friends.

He was born at Davenport, Iowa, Aug. 11, 1863 and in 1881 was married to Minnie McMahill, who with nine children survive. The children are: Will, of Arkansas; Edward, at home; Mrs. Nellie Dewey, of West Liberty; Mrs. Inez Nugent of Sioux City; Mrs Victoria Relyea, of Arkansas; Mrs. Ruth Wagner, of Wapello and Max, Vivian and Paul, at home. One sister, Mrs. Daniel Graham, of Wapello and one brother, James K. G. Hart of Oregon, also survive. Three children preceded their father in death. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home conducted by Rev. A. W. McBlain. Interment in Wapello cemetery.
