Louis Ernsting, father of Mrs. C. A. Brown, of this place, died at his home near Oakville, Sunday morning, Dec. 3, 1905, aged 71 years. He was born in Hanover, Ger., in 1834, and came to this country in 1860 on the same ship with H. Bothe's old and intimate friends of the family. He was united in marriage to Miss Dorothy Rutter in 1861. There were four children, Henry, deceased a year ago; Mrs. Emma C. Brown, of this place; Mrs. Thomas Myers, of Hurdland, Mo.; and Minnie, unmarried, at home. The family located on what is know as the old S. Clifton farm, near Oakville, about twenty-five years ago. He had been in failing health for a year or more from a cancerous tumor. The funeral was conducted by Rev. M. B. Klous and interment in the Creighton cemetery.
