Joseph Peacock and several sons, who came from Illinois 1896/70, first lived in Iowa county but came to Cedar Rapids and built a Brick and Tile Factory on the South side of the city, near Otis Road. They used a 10 acre parcel of land for their operation. I did find the map of where the placement was - but am seeking more information as to the precise location. They were in business from about 1893-1897.

This family also had brickyards in Coggon, Norway and Newhall Iowa.
