From the newspaper legal notices enclosed, it appears that Mary Greeley/Greely and Lee Maxfield were married in September 1940 and separated in December, 1940; that a baby girl was born to Mary on July 17, 1941, and that divorce proceedings were begun in August 1941 and concluded in September, 1941.
You should contact the Kossuth County, Iowa District Court to obtain a copy of the entire divorce file since one item will be the exact date and place of their marriage from which you can obtain the license and pertinent names and dates. There are several possible "Lee Maxfield's" but without the age from the marriage license it is not possible to ascertain the correct one.
The two news items I located for you:
Two Divorce actions were filed the past week in Kossuth County district court......Mary Maxfield is asking a divorce from Lee Maxfield, charging cruelty and desertion. They were married last September, separated in December, and a daughter was born July 17.
