Unfortunately Pete, sometimes those war record books give erroneous dates of death. I found one of my ancestors shown to have died in the 1920s in the books when in fact he died in the 1950s. But then again, it may be correct but wonder why he wasn't buried in Olin? Maybe his body was shipped back to a family plot somewhere else? And could have been visiting relatives when he died as you said and the Edmund in California is the one I found?

Strange how the date on the one in California is off by one digit on the whole thing? That he died 1/11/16 and yours 2/10/17. I think that is too coincidental especially with an unusual name like Edmund Bedell! Possibly typos or misreads? Or maybe he didn't die in Olin and/or the CA index is wrong in where he died?

Possibly Joanne can help on this one?

Jim
