FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR J.B. SEEHUSEN OF CENTER JUNCTION

CENTER JUNCTION - Funeral service for J. B. Seehusen, 49, was held last Saturday afternoon at Goettsch Funeral home, Monticello, and at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, by Rev. F. H. Kehren. Mr. Seehusen took his life late Wednesday afternoon, June 8, by hanging, according to Jones county Sheriff Henry Eichhorn.

John Benhard Seehusen was born Sept. 17, 1899, at Center Junction, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seehusen. He received his early education in Center Junction school. Later he moved with his parents to Castle Grove where he lived until after his marriage on Oct. 2, 1919, to Anna Behrends. They came back to Center Junction, and engaged in farming on his father's farm east of town. Later they purchased the farm, and lived there until March, 1947, when they retired to Center Junction. "Jack" as he was known by his friends, was interested in all community activities, a former member of the school board, a Farm Bureau member, member of the town Council at the time of his death, which office he had held for many years. Since 1929 he had been manger of Center Junction Shipping association, and was widely known as a breeder of purebred Chester Whit hogs.

Casket bearers were six nephews: Mahlon, John, Gene, Charles, and Glen Seehusen, Dale Dannemann, and John Eden. Mrs. Herman Helgens and Mrs George Folkerts sang "Let Me Go." and "God Will Take Care of You," with Mrs. Donald Dannemann as accompanist. Burial was at Oakwood cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Russell Jamison, two granddaughters, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seehusen, Sr., Monticello, seven brothers, George Seehusen, Monticello; Herman Seehusen, Wyoming; Carl Seehusen, Center Junction; William Seehusen, Cedar Rapids; Henry Seehusen, Jr.; Monticello; Rudolph Seehusen, Mechanicsville; Alfred Seehusen, Long Beach, Calif; and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Alsassar, Long Beach, Calif; and Mrs. Pat Carr, Cheyenne, Wyo. Relatives from out of town who came to attend the funeral were Mrs. Otto Schmitt, Barnston, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. George Behrends, Sons, Larry and Douglas, Lincoln, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. George Seehusen, Mr. and Mrs. Will Seehusen, Mrs. Matie Schultz, all of Pomeroy and Mrs. Pat Carr, Cheyenne, Wyo.
