ANTONIA HANSSEN RITES YESTERDAY:
Was Born In Jones County In July, 1882

Mrs Antonia Zak Hanssen died early Monday morning at the John McDonald hospital after an illness of 25 days there. Mrs Hanssen, who had been making her home with her niece, Mrs Leonard Ahrendsen, in Wyoming, broke her hip while on a visit with another niece, Helen Von Spreecken, in Olin.

Mrs Hanssen was born in Oxford Junction, July 9, 1882, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Vincent Zak. A good portion of her life was spent in this vicinity. She was married to Vertus Hanssen who preceded her in death.

Surviving their sister are Edward Zak of Oxford Junction, and Mrs Mary Bohm of Davenport. There were no children. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her death.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 pm from the Monticello Presbyterian church, with the Rev JH Blakemore of Wyoming officiating. Pallbearers were Walter Freeman, Irvin Graver, George Hanssen, Arthur Tompkins, Ralph Waln, and Louis Whiting.
