Funeral services for Thomas Pender, 82, were held Monday from Sacred Heart church, Monticello, with the Rev. Fr. A. L. Lorenz, officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart cemetery. Mr. Pender passed away Friday, preceding a long illness.

Mr. Pender's birthplace was near Cascade. He moved to Monticello as a young man. In October, 1908, he married Miss Elizabeth Lane. She preceded him in death in 1927. Two daughters survive: Mrs. Elizabeth McVay of Castle Grove and Mary of Monticello, and two granddaughters.
