June 17, 1971 - The Anamosa Eureka

OLIN - Mrs. Esther F. Peck, 87, Meth Wick manor, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 9, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held at the Olin United Methodist church, Olin, Saturday, June 12, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Lawrence Odegard conducted the service. Interment was in the Olin cemetery. Arrangements by Hayden Funeral home.

Pallbearers included her grandsons, Larry Stivers, Champaign, Ill.; Dr. Tom Stivers, Hutchinson, Kans.; William Wentzel, Muscatine; Jon Wentzel, Wauconda, Ill.; James Robinson, Monticello; and William Ballou, Olin. Mrs. Ron Rogers was organist; Mrs. Bill Ballou, soloist.

She was born near Olin September 26, 1883, daughter of Samuel and Amy Fisher Easterly. She lived in Olin before moving to Meth Wick five years ago.

She was a member of the Olin United Methodist church, Hiawatha Chapter of O.E.S., Past Matrons and a charter member of the Twentieth Century club of Olin.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. E. J. (Helen) Stivers, Cedar Rapids and Pompano Beach, Fla.; Mrs. R. A. (Ruth) Miller, Monticello9; Mrs. H. A. (Pauline) Wentzel, Newton; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William C.; and a brother, Frank Easterly.
