MRS. J. HUDGEL PASSES AWAY
Funeral Services, Wednesday At 3:00 O'clock From The Home

Mrs. Joseph HUDGEL a resident of Jefferson county for over a half a century passed away March 2 at 7:25 a.m., after an illness of several weeks at the age of 77 years.

Malinda Jane WILSON, daughter of Charles Wesley and Olivia WILSON was born April 14, 1849 near Galesburg, Ill., and with her parents removed to Jefferson county, Iowa, at an early age.

On February 24, 1867, she was united in marriage with Joseph HUDGEL who preceded her in death March 10, 1914.

To this Union seven children were born, five of whom survive her. Mrs. George E. OLIVER, and Ed of Fairfield, Lincoln and Ernest of Burlington and Grant of Grand Forks, N. D. Virgil Edwin the oldest son, passed away December 17, 1871 at the age of four years and Mrs. D. C. HARPER the oldest daughter preceded her in death February 4, 1895 at the age of 22. Besides these seven children she reared her granddaughter, Mrs. E. L. FRYE of Phoenix, Ariz.. Fourteen other grandchildren and two brothers, L. C. WILSON of Akron, Colo., and John WILSON who for the past five years has made his home with Mrs. HUDGELL, survive her.

Mrs. HUDGEL was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this city and a host of friends will mourn at her passing.Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 oclock from the home, 603 South Third street. Dr. Gilbert Voorhies of the First Presbyterian church will conduct the services.
