Clyde HUDGEL Taken In Death

Clyde HUDGEL, 65, long-time resident of the Fairfield community, died at 12:40 p.m. today at the Nelson Nursing home west of Fairfield.

The body was taken to the Weston Behner Funeral home where last rites are pending.

HUDGEL Funeral To Be Saturday

Last rites will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for Clyde C. HUDGEL, 65, lifetime resident of Fairfield who died Thursday at the Nelson Nursing home west of Fairfield.

The services tomorrow will be at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. Robert Williams in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

HUDGEL, a retired mechanic, had been in failing health for the past six months and seriously ill the past week.

Clyde C. HUDGEL was born April 4, 1898, in Jefferson county, the son of William and Bertha ROSS HUDGEL. He was reared and educated in the Fairfield community.

Members of Walnut Lodge No. 317, IOOF, at Perlee will have a part in the services.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles BUTCHER, Springfield, Ill.; one son, William HUDGEL, Galesburg; also four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Faith PETERS, Ottumwa; and a brother, Robert HUDGEL, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. HUDGEL was a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist church and Odd Fellows lodge at Perlee.

Note: Buried in Lot 1st.040. He was married in 1920 to Helen Larue GIRE, and they divorced sometime between 1930 and 1940. She died in 1985 in IL, but it is not known at the time of this posting whether she remarried or where her final resting place is.
