DIES FRIDAY AT HIS HOME

O. L. HIATT, 71, long time resident of Jefferson county, passed away about 10:00 p.m. last night at his home, 204 South Fourth street. He had been in failing health for the past five years and confined to his bed the past 17 months.

Last rites will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. L. Weis in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Orlando Lee HIATT was born July 17, 1877, in Lee county, Iowa, the son of the late Alvin Stewart and Catherine Almeda DAWSON HIATT. Except for a few years he spent in Lee county, and a short time he was in Canada, he spent his entire life in Jefferson county.

He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. HIATT was united in marriage to Nettie HYDE on April 9, 1931, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: John Alvin HIATT, Mrs. Mildred FISCHER and Mrs. Marjorie SCHIEDEL, all of Fairfield; six grandchildren; two brothers, H. D. HAITT (sic), Fairfield, and Lyle HIATT, Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche JOHNSON, Birmingham, and Mrs. Mabel COLLINS, Krebs, Oklahoma.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL IN DISTRICT COURT
State of Iowa,
Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Orlando L. HIATT, deceased, dated May 28, 1931, having been this day filed, opened and read, Saturday the 26th day of March, 1949, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock A. M. of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause if any they have why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, February 28th, 1949.
