Mrs. Lulu HIATT Taken In Death

Mrs. H. D. HIATT, 85, native of Jefferson County, died Sunday, March 26, at the Ottumwa Hospital in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

She had been in failing health for the past several months and entered the Ottumwa Hospital March 8 where she had undergone surgery.

Last rites will be Wednesday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Gillum officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Lulu CHATTERTON HIATT was born Sept. 22, 1881, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Alvin and Louisa SHERMAN CHATTERTON. She was married to Harold D. HIATT on June 14, 1905, in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1959. The family home is at 404 W. Briggs. Mrs. HIATT was a member of the Christian Church.

She is survived by two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Lester; three sisters and one brother.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL, OF APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTOR, AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

In The District Court Of The State Of Iowa In And For Jefferson County

In The Matter Of The Estate Of Lulu HIATT, Deceased.

To All Persons Interested In The Estate of Lulu HIATT, Deceased:

You are hereby notified that on the 30th day of March, 1967, the last will and testament of the above named decedent, bearing date of the 4th day of November, 1963, and Codocil dated the 10th day of June, 1964, was admitted to probate in the above named court and that J. Alvin HIATT was appointed executor of said estate.

Notice is further given that any action to set aside said Will must be brought in the District Court of said County within one year from the date of the second publication of this notice, or thereafter be forever barred.

Notice is further given that all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against said estate shall file them with the clerk of the above named district court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance; and unless so filed within six months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) such claim shall thereafter be forever barred.
