My GGG Grandparents Thomas HANSON and Jane HANSON nee BROTHERS left Ruabon, Wales in 1869 and arrived in Newton, Iowa. Thomas was a brickmaker. He may have died 1877 or 1879, Jane believed to have d. 1907. They had 9 children: Eliza; Martha; William; Hannah [my GG Grandmother]; Fanny; Phoebe; Arthur; Clara & George.
The latter four made it to Newton according to 1880 and 1885 Census info. Hannah remained in Wales.
Phoebe married John Ransome WOODROW and had six children: Albert Edward (d. aged 3 yrs); George Merritt b. 8 Sep 1882; Maurice Hanson b. 6 1 1886 worked for Jasper County Bank, Newton; Ella V. b.16th Nov 1887[who married Charles HOTCHKISS]; Mabel L. b.11 Aug 1894 and Robert, b. 17 Sep 1896.
Arthur married Alice E. ? and had two children:
Phebe b. 1883; and Clara L. b.1885.I am trying to trace anyone who is a modern day descendant, or who can assist me to list offspring. I live in England. I would like to see a photo of my GGG Grandparents burial plot in Newton Union Cemetery if possible. Ideally photos of family would be great.
I can supply details of many of Hannah's descendants.
Cheers
Andy Beech
