I have a little information for you that may help you in the search for the book “Book or Murphy” I have no idea if the following book is the same one you are looking for but I looked up this book at the website for the world catalog, called worldcat.org
The description was:Book of Murphy: pedigree of the Murphy families, descendants of Hugh Murphy; comp. from records, tradition ... "O'Hart's" pedigrees of the Irish, Daniel J. Murphy and J. Wildman Murphy's ... labors on this line: O'Muirchu, O'Moroghu, anglicised Murchoe, Murrough, Murphy, Murphie, O'Murphy and Morrin ...
It said the author was John W. Murphy, (1825-) and was published in 1952 as a reprint of the 1905 edition. Other information was:
OCLC Number 18727546
Description [9] p. 23 cm.
I do not know what either means, except the first might be a call letter number.
It also said Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne, Indiana has a copy of the book. This particular library will do genealogy research and if the description above means there are only 23 pages, perhaps you can request a photocopy?I do not know where you are located but, just as a FYI, our Jasper County Gen. Soc. Library and the State Historical library in Des Moines has a book titled “The Daniel Washington Murphy family of Jasper County, Iowa, 1841-1977” authored by McMeen, Lola Frances Murphy (1905-)
It looks like Lola has authored several books.
Hope some of this is useful.
