Lorraine T. Hawkins: Reasnor-Funeral Services for Mr. Lorraine T. Hawkins, 66, 210 West St. Reasnor, a resident of Reasnor since 1934, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. The Rev. David Klanderman, pastor of the Pella Reformed Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton. Friends may call at the funeral home today and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper county will be accepted. He died Tusday morning at Skiff Medical Center in Newton of cancer.
Survivors are his wife, Conda; four sons and daughters-in-law, Norm and Shelley of Ames, Bob and Sari of Newton, Dick And Shellie of Pella, Tim and Cherese of Altoona; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Ron and Julie Newburn of California; three step-daughters and step-son-in-law, Melody and Marvin Ferneau of Montezuma, and Becky and Tom Lally and Mary and Bill Townsend, all of Arkansas. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald of Reasnor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hawkins, who served in the Air Force from 1948 to 1950 and the Air Force Reserves from 1950 to 1955, enjoyed woodworking and oil painting. He had been employed as a tool and die maker at Lage Productions in Montezuma.
The son of Andrew C. and Ethel A. Driscoll Hawkins, he was born May 8, 1928 in Garden City, Kansas. and was a 1947 graduate of Newton Community High School. He was married to Conda Ashby September 3, 1982 in Montezuma.
