George Washington Young born: August 11, 1840 in Highland County, Ohio and died: June 27, 1920 in Humansville, Missouri, was married September 22, 1861 in Danville, Highland County, Ohio to Mary Ann Custer born: March 2, 1843 and died: June 16, 1929. He lived in Jasper County, Iowa from 1870 when his daughter Mary Alice was born to 1877 when his daughter Barbara Ann was born. George's parents were Louis Young (1815-1888) and Barbara Workman (1818-1907). George's grandparents were Samuel Young (1781-1849) and Sarah Whitlatch (1789-1879). George & Mary had 13 children Orlando,Elvades Lee, Lucinda, Catherine, Philip Madison, Mary Alice, William, Martha Jane, Franklin Mills, Barbara Ann, Robert, Jessie and one infant. George moved to Kansas in about 1881.
