Norma Jean Seim
March 18, 1938 - February 15, 2025

Norma Jean Seim, born on March 18, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, passed away peacefully in Altoona, Iowa, on February 15, 2025, at the age of 86. A devoted housewife and homemaker, Norma treasured her role in caring for her family and creating a warm, loving environment. She was married to Paul Berglund of Stratford, Iowa. After Paul's passing, she met and married Darryl Seim of Prairie City, Iowa.

Norma found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A talented cook, she was particularly renowned for her delightful banana bread, which became a beloved staple among friends and family. Her love for reading fueled her imagination, while her affinity for garage sales brought her countless treasures and connections within her community. She also found joy in the challenge of puzzle books.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on February 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hardin Township Cemetery, located at 3201 375th St., Stratford, Iowa.

Those left to honor her memory include a cousin; Rhonda (Steve Shafer) Sickora, sister-in-law's; Shirey Hanawalt and Alene Seim, a niece; Becky Jordan, a nephew; Arne Seim, as well as many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; George and Neva (Myers) Hanawalt, her husbands; Paul Berglund (1995) and Darryl Seim (2003), Darryl's parents; Knudt Olai Seim and Dorothy M. (Kersey) Seim, a brother; Bob Hanawalt, a sister; Betty Christy, brother-in-law's; Richard Knudt Seim, Allan Lynn Seim, and Gerald Lee Seim, and her sister-in-law's; Betty Annette Vint and Nancy Cutler.
