Edward "Ed" Baldwin, age 53 of Boone, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 in West Des Moines.
Edward Duane Baldwin was born on July 2, 1969 in Nevada, IA, the son of Lawrence and Sondra (Christain) Baldwin. He graduated from Collins-Maxwell High School in 1987 and continued his education at DMACC.
Ed worked at John Deere and several other shops as a mechanic and for Webb Farms in Mitchellville up until his health complications started to affect him. Ed later worked at Bomgaars in Webster City after moving to Boone.
Ed was an avid baseball fan; his team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He would watch any baseball game, little league to the World Series. Ed loved watching TV from NASCAR to old time shows. He was a trivia buff, no one could stump Ed! In his earlier years, he used to snowmobile and more recently he enjoyed watching truck and tractor pulls.
Ed was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Lawrence; and uncle, Bill Christain. He is survived by his mother, Sondra Baldwin-Lyons of Boone; sister, Kelley Ball-Birchmier of Ankeny; brother, Michael (Alyson) Baldwin of Coralville; niece and nephews, Mary (Michael) Madsen, Tanner Ball, Dalton Birchmier and Jordan Baldwin; great niece, Paisley Madsen; along with numerous extended family members.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the Graham Cemetery near Mingo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
