Kayla Blanchard, 64, passed away June 1, 2023 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Kayla was born April 26, 1959 in Des Moines to Rex and Julia (Shannon) Channon.
She was employed at EMC Insurance for 35 years, where she later retired.
She had enjoyed being a part of her grandkids sporting events. She was so proud of Conner and Carlee's achievements. Kayla loved her grandkids, they were her life. She also loved to collect bears.
You could always find her enjoying WWE Wrestling, where most of the time, with her yelling and screaming at the TV, it felt like you were there. Kayla had a huge heart and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Channon.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8th at 10 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Vandalia Cemetery.
