Funeral services for Michael Banowetz, 91, Maquoketa, father of Ray Banowetz, Tipton postmaster, will be held today at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Maquoketa.
Mr. Banowetz died at his home April 14.
He was born in Clinton county. He married Wilhelmina Reuter in 1911 in Sugar Creek. He was a retired farmer and a carpenter.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Joe (Elizabeth) McDevitt and Mrs. Herbie (Gertrude) Weis, both of Bellevue; Mrs. Ray (Clara) Hermiston, New Liberty, and Sister Delores Banowetz, Dubuque; 7 sons, Victor and Lawrence, both of Maquoketa; Leonard, Anaheim, Calif.; Paul, DeWitt; Raymond, Tipton; Norbert, Cedar Rapids; Don, Honma, La., and Ted, Monticello; 72 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Christina Trenkamp and Mrs. Peter Reuter, both of Preston, Mrs. Theresa Dunn and Mrs. Tony Baresh, both of Clinton, and Mrs. Leo Fuegan, Charlotte, and 2 brothers, William and Joseph, both of Preston.
