Our community was shocked at the sad news of the sudden death of Mrs. John Michel of Cresco which occurred Wednesday at her home while operating the electric washer. Mrs. Michel will be remembered as Miss Carrie Bronner, whose girlhood days were spent in North Albion. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy to the entire community

OBITUARY.
Michel.
Carrie Bronner, third child of Mr. John Bronner and his wife Maria, was born in Albion twp., Howard county, Iowa, the 7th day of January, 1865. When grown to womanhood she was united in wedlock with John Michel Sept. 24th, 1885. Five children sprang from this union—3 sons and two daughters. Two sons preceded her in death, one dying in infancy, the other at the age of 9 years. One son Jerome and two daughters, Tillie Walter and Mamie Seeley, survive her.
After 31 years of hard work on the farm near Granger deceased together with her husband moved to Cresco in July, 1916 to spend the evening of life. Apparently a goodly number of years of repose were in store for her for she was blessed with exceptionally good health, having never been sick a day. So much greater was the shock when she was found dead in her home Wednesday evening, Oct. 1. Our hearts go out in sympathy toward the bereaved husband, children and relatives to whom she {has} been a faithful wife a loving and devoted mother and a kind and helpful friend.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. John Pless were held at Emmanuel’s Lutheran church Saturday afternoon and burial was at Granger.
