Ralph Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Miller, died at Camp Funston the latter part of last week. The body was brought to Elma, Monday, and taken to Maple Leaf for burial Tuesday. The young man died of pneumonia following influenza, thus another patriot gave his all in defense of his country as truly as though he had died in battle.
Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in the Howard Cemetery shows he was born Sept. 9, 1896 and died Oct. 3, 1918.
