Popular Young Couple Married.
A pretty wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful church of Our Lady of Lourdes at Lourdes, Tuesday morning, November 5th, 1918, when Miss Maude Marian Bigley became the bride of Francis Thomas Gleason, Rev. Father Hogan officiated, using the ring service.
The bride looked charming in a taupe suit with hat and accessories to match, while the groom wore a blue serge suit. Mr. and Mrs. Gleason were unattended, only the immediate families of the contracting parties witnessed the ceremony.
After the service at the church the party repaired to the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Bigley, where a four course breakfast was served and where the many and useful gifts were reviewed.
The bride is a very popular young lady, both in her own community and at Elma. She has always remained at home and studied domestic science under the direction of her very capable mother, and we predict she will make an ideal helpmate.
The groom is one of Elma’s noblest boys, honest, unright{sic}, and alert to every opportunity to better himself. He is a hustling young farmer and bound to make good.
Mr. and Mrs. Gleason will be at home to their many friends after December first in the George Jacoby home in Busti.—Elma New Era.
