COLLEGE NOTES.

Senator Harlan last week presented to the museum a valuable collection of minerals and other relics, the collection of Jack Lincoln. The specimens were mostly collected by the senator’s son, W. A. Harlan, by whom they were presented to Jack Lincoln, grandson of our martyred president. The collection comprises many fine specimens of minerals, sea shells, corals, etc. There are also valuable relics. There is a piece of the boot worn by President Lincoln on the evening of the assassination. A little memento in the shape of a box bears an inscription stating that it was presented to the president by James Murdock in behalf of the admirers of Mr. Lincoln and the friends of the union. The collection has been arranged in a separate case in the museum and will be labeled as the private collection of Jack Lincoln.
