Dean Franklin Bennett was born May 28, 1937, at Alden, Iowa, to son of John Henry and Violet Isabell [Hosington] Bennett. He graduated from Alden High School with the class of 1955. After graduation; Dean served with the United States Army. On July 1, 1960, Dean was united in marriage to Sandra Mae Timmer at Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Derrick Wayne, Roxanne Kaye, and Cathleen Sue. Dean worked for Farmland Foods Iowa Falls for 30 years and then for Electrolux of Webster City, Iowa. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls and had served as a trustee and usher for many years. He was a member of the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188, Iowa Falls and faithfully served on the Honor Guard for many years.

Dean F. Bennett is survived by his wife: Sandra Bennett of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his children: Derrick Bennett of Chicago, Illinois, Roxanne [Darren] Whitmore of Perry, Iowa, Cathleen [William] Henrich of Clive, Iowa; three grandchildren: Alissa Whitmore of Perry Iowa, Lindsay Whitmore of Clive, Iowa, John Henrich of Clive, Iowa; one great grandson expected in January of 2015; one sister: Doris Henderson of Logan, West Virginia; two brothers: Jerry [Lois] Bennett of Alden, Iowa; Dennis [Jayne] Bennett of Rotonda, Florida; and a sister-in-law: Marilyn Bennett of Carroll, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Violet Bennett; a brother: John Bennett; three sisters and their spouses: Vera [John] Brass, Katherine [Herb] Smuck, Martha [Merle] Hartkopp; and a brother-in-law: Vernon Henderson.
