Death of Mrs. L. J. Blake.

Thursday's Freeman-Tribune: Mrs. L. J. Blake, mother of County Attorney Blake, died this morning at nine o'clock at the home of her son, Harmon, north-west of this city. The funeral will be held some time Saturday.

Mrs. Blake was one of the oldest settlers of Hamilton county. She leaves a husband and eight children to mourn her taking away. She died from the infirmities of old age, being 78 years old at the time of her death She has been in feeble health for some time and for the past year has been confined to her bed. Her husband is 86 years old but is better preserved than was Mrs. Blake.

Mr. and Mrs. Blake came to Hamilton county in 1863 and have resided here ever since. They first lived south of Homer, and are well known to the older settlers of the county. Mr. and Mrs. Blake have undergone all the hardships incident to pioneer life and have borne their share in the upbuilding of Hamilton county. The death of Mrs. Blake removes from life one whose going will be sadly missed. The sympathy of the community will go to the family in their loss, which was not unexpected, although none the less unmitigated by the certain knowledge that the end must soon come.
