G. I. MILLANG DIED SUDDENLY FRIDAY

Gerhardt Ingvald Millang was born at Rose Grove, Iowa, August 7, 1891, and passed away very suddenly at Story City, Iowa, April 21, 1938, at the age of 47 years. The cause of his death was a hemorrhage of the brain.

With the exception of the last ten years spent in Story City, he lived his entire life at Rose Grove, where he was baptized, confirmed and a member of Rose Grove Lutheran church. After coming to Story City he has been a member of the Bethel Lutheran church.

While he lived at Rose Grove he was engaged in farming. While at Story City he has been engaged in railroad work and day labor.

October 17, 1916, he was united in marriage to Miss Myrtle Thompson, also of Rose Grove, but her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Thompson, are now living at Randall. To this union were born seven children, who together with their mother mourn the loss of a kind Christian father and husband.

His parents have preceded him in death, as have also 11 of his brothers and sisters. Of a family of fourteen children there are two left: Ubert Millang of Canada, and Mrs. Tom Lucia of Minneapolis.

Mr. Millang was a devout Christian and a man of prayer and devotion, and the family has the sure belief that he has passed from this struggling life into a perfect life above.

Funeral services were conducted from the home and the Bethel church, Monday, April 25, where Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiated. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery. The pall bearers were Stanton James, L. O. Jacobson, Reuben Nibe, J. M. Severaid, George Nibe and Oscar Ritland.
