LOCAL MAN ENDS LIFE BY HANGING

Henry Kristenson [sic], who for some years has been known to have been subject to spells of despondency, committed suicide this morning by hanging. His body was found shortly before noon hanging from a beam on the east end of the M. & St. L. railroad bridge, by two tramps who were coming into town.

Henry usually took a walk every morning before breakfast, returning home around 8 o'clock. This morning he started out as usual, but when he did not return by 9 searching parties were sent to look for him, but without success, and his whereabouts was unknown until the two men reported to the mayor's office.

Mr. Kristensen [sic] is survived by his wife and daughter, beside his aged mother, wo has been bedridden for some years.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Henry Christenson was the son of Sorn "Sam" Christenson and Madel Christine "Christine" Reintertson. He was married to Edna Magnusson 15 February 1928 in Cook County, Illinois. He is buried in the Mount Olive Cemetery at Randall, Hamilton County, Iowa.
