Clifford O. Peterson
Clifford O. Peterson was born at Stewart, Ill., in 1896. When he was three years old his parents moved to Chicago where they lived until he was 13, when they moved to Rodman. There he joined the Methodist church when he was 16.
In 1914 he, together with his parents, moved to Blue Earth, Minn., where he established his Hatchery in 1916. In 1920 they moved to northern Minnesota where he operated a chain of hatcheries.
In 1930 he returned to Blue Earth, where he continued his hatchery activities, attaining the largest hatching capacity in Faribault county.
He was united in marriage to Leota Otter of Garden City, S. D., in 1930 and to this union two sons were born, Robert Eugene and Charles Otter. Besides these sons he leaves his mother and father, three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Evans, Blue Earth; Mrs. G. C. Oakland, Delavan, Minn., and Mrs. Ed Evenson, Chicago; and two brothers, Ed Selgelid of Renwick and Tom Richolson of Illinois.
He died on Dec. 24, 1935, at the age of 39 years, 11 months and 17 days, after a very short siege of bronchial asthmas, followed by a heart attack.
Rev. Ed Duea of Dows delivered the funeral service at Trinity Lutheran church with which Mr. Peterson kept up an affiliation thru the wishes of his parents. He was laid to rest in the Riverside cemetery at Blue Earth on Dec. 30, 1935.
