OBITUARY
MRS. ANNA NELSON
Mrs. Anna Nelson was born in Hjelmeland parish, Norway, Oct. 13, 1865, and died at the Sunset Home in Story City on June 17, 1936, being 70 year and 8 months old. She was baptized and confirmed in the above mentioned parish. At the age of 22 years she came to this country. She spent a few years at Ottawa and LaSalle, Ill., and Radcliffe, Iowa.
In September, 1902, she was united in marriage to Ole Nelson. They made their home on a farm in Boone county. After her husband's death, July 9, 1912, she spent the remainder of her life, of which the last four weeks were spent at the Sunset Home.
She leaves to mourn her loss five step-children, Oto, Albert and Mrs. William Johnson of Winnebago, Minn., Nels of Webster City, and Joseph of Story City. One step-daughter and one step-son have preceded her in death.
It was a hard task Mrs. Nelson stepped into when she took up her work in the Nelson home with six small motherless children, but she was willing and glad to cast her lot with these little ones, and she was able to rear them and give them care both bodily and spiritually. If this was all she has done in life it would be a great work. And her step-children in turn have appreciated her work for them and given her their assistance and care up to the last.
While at Story City Mrs. Nelson had been affiliated with the Bethel church, where she was a faithful worker and where she was considered a good Christian and a faithful follower of the Good Shepherd.
She was buried from the Bethel church Friday, June 19, 1936, where her pastor, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud, officiated. Many of her friends and relatives were present at the funeral. She was laid to rest at the Ole Olson cemetery six miles southwest of Randall, Iowa.
