Thursday, December 29, 1988Edmund M. Seiser, 92, Webster City, died Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Hamilton County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, with graveside flag folding services conducted by American Legion Post 191 of Webster City. Visitation at the Foster Funeral Home will be after 7 p.m. today, with the family receiving relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30.
Edmund Milton Seiser, son of Melchior and Karoline Schuler Seiser, was born Jan. 11, 1896 in Towanda, Ill. He was educated in McClain County, Ill. He served with the U.S. Army during WWI. He married Gladys Raber on Dec. 30, 1919 in Carlock, Ill. The couple farmed east of Webster City and had five children.
Following the death of Gladys Seiser on Feb. 5, 1927, he married Kate Ubben on June 8, 1937 in Webster City. The couple continued to farm until 1954, when they moved to Webster City.
He is survived by his wife Kate, Webster City; daughter Phyllis Messa, Iowa Falls; two sons, Marcus Seiser, Webster City; and Milton Seiser, Ames; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Susan Essig, Webster City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Harold and Virgil Seiser; one son-in-law, Frank Messa; two grandchildren, two brothers and six sisters.
He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, American Legion 191, Webster City Noon Kiwanis, Izaak Walton League, Birthday Club and was involved in numerous farm and civic related organizations.
