Funeral services for Mary Ellen Meinecke, 80, of Jefferson, will be 2:30pm Sunday, February 17, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Interment will be in the Franklin Township Cemetery, Cooper, Iowa. Visitation begins after 11 a.m. Saturday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.Memorials are suggested to Iowa Public Television or to the charity of your choice.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Carol, her son Dale, and her parents. She is survived by her son: Jeff (Patty) Meinecke of Panora, IA; daughters: Beth (Wayne) Hougham of Jefferson, IA; LaDonna (James VonBank) Meinecke of Corcoran, MN; sister: LaVonne Hansen of Saydel, IA; and brother-in-law: Calvin (Margaret) Meinecke of Perry, IA.; four grandchildren: Allison Meinecke, Jacob Meinecke, Mary Rose Shelley, Anna Rae Shelley, and Lainy Von Bank; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
