OSCAR BEAM OBITUARY
Oscar D. Beam was born to Daniel and Lucy Beam at Riverton, Iowa, November 18, 1876, and died at the Fremont County home August 23, 1955, aged 78. His early life was spent in and around Riverton. In 1906 he moved to Eddyville, Nebr., where he made his home with his sister, Cora Chaney, and there he was engaged in farming. After leaving Nebraska, he went to Burlington, Iowa, where he worked for the railroad. Later he returned to Riverton. He spent the past six years at the Fremont County home. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and eight brothers. During his last years he was visited and watched by his nephew, Clifford Beam. Other survivors are nieces and nephews.
Funeral rites were held at Shull Funeral Home Friday, the 26th, conducted by Rev. J.E. Englund. Music was by Mrs. Robert Anderson, with Mrs. Wm. Stubbs at the piano. Pall bears were Arnold Fox, Waldo Cowden, Charles Ryan, Robert Anderson, T.J. Lewis and Earl Randolph. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Relatives from out of town attending included Mr. and Mrs. Paul Porter of Kearney, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McCluskey of Kansas City, Mrs. Dale McMcluskey, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn McCluskey and Linda, and Mrs. Louis Barnes and children, all of Omaha, Leonard Johnson of Tabor and Frank Brown and daughter of Hamburg.
