Charles Vinton Adkins was born at Galesburg, Ill., October 30, 1880 and died at Fairfax, Mo. hospital, March 17, 1959.
He lived for many years on a farm south of Riverton, moving to a farm in Missouri in 1936. He was active in farming until four years ago.
He was united in marriage to Pearl Coon, March 5, 1908 and to this union five children were born. He is survived by one son Clifford, three daughters Miss Cleo Adkins of Nebraska City, Mrs. Donald Trivelpiece and Mrs. Edwin Magaw of Hamburg, nine grandchldren and three great-grandchildren, one brother McGuire of Nebraska City and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Ora, who died Sept. 24, 1958.
Funeral services were held at Johnson Funeral Home March 19, with interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
