BESSIE BEARD'S
103RD BIRTHDAY

Bessie Beard, of Nora Springs, Iowa, was honored at a dinner at the Nora Springs First United Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 5, 1994. Family and Friends helped her celebrate her 103rd birthday.

Those attending were: a son, Foster Beard of Rudd, Iowa, a daughter-in-law, Mary Beard, grandson Doug and wife Karen Beard and great-granddaughter Holly, all of Floyd; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Sid Merryman of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Amy Grady, Manly; granddaughter, Sharon La Coste and great-grandchildren Wayne and Tracie La Coste, all of Rudd; granddaughter Janice Losee, great-grandchildren Michelle, Dawn and great-great-granddaughter Erika Losee, all of Mason City; grandson Edward and Jean Beard and great-granddaughter Edie Beard, all of Coal Valley, Illinois; great-granddaughter Amy Werner and great-granddaughter Sarah Wener of Woodhull, Illinois; grandson David and wife Karen Merryman and great-grandson Brian Merryman of Newton; greanddaughter Judy Degenstien of Cedar Falls; great-granddaughter Kathy Cantrell and great-great-granddaughter Heather Cantrell of Waterloo; nephew Leo Beard and wife Jeanean of Mingo; nephew Delmer Beard and wife Leona of Newton; niece Ardith Timmens and son Robert of Monroe; great-nephew Philip De Moss and friend Ritz of Rockwell; great-niece Cheryl Harringa of Mason City.

There were two cakes decorated with quilt patterns, to look like quilts on cake beds.
