David P. Umbarger, enlisted in Company C, 38th inf. 15 August, 1862, died at Carrollton, Iowa on 24 August 1863.

J. P. Umbarger, enlisted 11 August, 1862 in the same company as David, was transfered to Co. K, 34th Inf. on 31 December 1864.

from "1878 History of Fayette County, Iowa" but no information on where they enlisted.
