Elizabeth Emma Von Holdt 79, of Spencer died Tuesday, Nov. 19. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 1991, at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Park. Rev. Randall Knuth officiated. Music was provided by Marian Tuinstra, organist and Ben Decker, soloist. Hymns were “Goin Home" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were David Moore, Terry Johnson, Bob Von Holdt, Dennis Artrip, Ron Von Holdt, Bill Von Holdt and Doug Artrip.
Elizabeth Emma Von Holdt, daughter of Joseph and Anna Lenz Sprossig, was born February 21, 1912, in Lake Park, Iowa. The family moved to Princeton, MN., when she was a child, and it was in that community she received her early education. Following her schooling she returned to the Lake Park area.
On September 3, 1930, Elizabeth married Herman Von Holdt, throughout their marriage they made their home in the Lake Park area. Following Herman's death, Elizabeth moved to Spencer in 1978, where she since made her home. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, the RSVP Club and the Mitten Club.
Mrs. Von Holdt passed away at the Hallmark Care Center in Sioux City on November 19,1991. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1977; 2 sons, Don and John and 1 sister, Alice Dilly.
Elizabeth is survived by 4 sons: Dick and his wife Doris, of Casper. WY„ Ron, and his wife Alice, of Spencer, Mike of Sioux Falls, and Dave, and his wife Colette, of Lake Park; 4 daughters: Mary Ann Artrip of Huntington, W. VA., Betty Johnson of Loveland, CO., Cathy Morse, and her husband Dave, of Spencer and Joy Decker, and her husband Dave, of Spencer; 19 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Fradette of Milaca, MN.; other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park. Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, was in charge of arrangements
