Memorial Service for “Tim' D. Woods, 55, of Fairmont will be 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Fairmont. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Tim passed away surrounded by his family on March 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Timothy Dale was born October 3, 1961 to Larry and Nancy (Johnson) Woods in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The family moved to Fairmont in 1964 where Tim attended school and was a member of the 1980 graduating class from Fairmont High School. Tim earned his degree in Criminal Justice from Mankato State University, and after years of working in California, eventually moved back to Fairmont, where he worked for the last 23 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Larry and Nancy Woods of Spirit Lake, IA; brother, Jim Wood and his wife, Peg of Ham Lake, MN; sister, Tara Maier and her husband, Jay of Rochester, MN; nieces and nephew: Micalyn, Esther, Andrean, Jenna and Lewis; other extended family and many friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dale and Esther Woods and Gayl and Mary Ellen Johnson; Aunt Lou and Uncle Ralph Angle; Aunt Patty Woods; and Uncle Charlie Woods.

Tim’s pride and joy came from being an uncle to his four nieces and nephew. Some of Tim’s greatest memories come from his family vacation to Hawaii in March of 2016. Helping others was also important to Tim, which he carried through even after his death by being an organ donor. Tim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
