If they were living near Pleasanton, Iowa when the 1925 cenus was taken, and you can't find them now....you might try checking just over the border in Missouri. (Harrison and Mercer county touch Decatur County.) Sometimes it looks like my relatives that lived on the Iowa/Missouri border kept moving back and forth, but they really stayed put, and the border line kept changing back and forth. I know there is an Archibald Downey burried in Andover cemetery in Harrison county, missouri, but he died in 1874~maybe he's a grandfather/uncle. Andover Cemetery is very close to the Iowa/missouri border.
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~moharris/andovercem.html is a list of those buried at andover. Also, did you know there is a Downey Cemetery in harrison county, missouri, just a couple miles from the Iowa line?
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~moharris/downeycem.html tells a little about the cemetery, and lists those they know are burried there. It was called Downey Cemetery as it was a family plot. So, if you can find a plat map and see if where they lived was close to the land that the cemetery is on, you might have a "match" at finding more information on the family.
good luck
