Betty Elaine Anderson, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, Perry, with Pastor Mark Holmes officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Lost Grove Township Cemetery near Harcourt. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday, October 5 at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, Perry. Palmer Funeral Home of Gowrie is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include son, Paul Anderson and his wife, Susan of Des Moines and daughter, Joan Callow and her husband, Tom of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, David Callow and his wife, Elizabeth; sister, Marilyn Umsted and her husband, Roger of Kansas City, Missouri.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Nels and Ruth (Nelson) Schill; husband, Dale; sister, Lois Klingson; and stepfather, Claire Duffus.
Betty Elaine Schill was born on March 27, 1928 in Lundgren, IA and graduated from the Callender High School. She was united in marriage with Dale Anderson on April 16, 1949 at Harcourt. They lived in Harcourt, Terril, Peterson, Ackley, Manchester, Humboldt and moved to Perry in 1985. Betty was employed at the Humboldt Reminder. Betty was a member of the Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry.
