Kiron--Clarence Emmanuel Clauson was born in Stockholm township, Crawford County, Aug. 26, 1895 and he died on his farm near Kiron May 8, 1957 having reached the age of 61 years 5 months and 18 days.
On Sept. 1 1924 he was united in marriage to Bessie Pearl Bruce. To this union two children, Lila Lee and Gordon were born.
With the exception of a few years spent in Denison, the major part of his lifetime was spent on his farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and sister and at his death he leaves to mourn his daughter, Lila, Mrs. Willard Gustafson, his son, Gordon, of St. Paul, Minn., his sister Mabel, Mrs. Ernest Gustafson, his brother Eldon of St. Paul, Minnesota, his son-in-law, Willard Gustafson, his daughter-in-law, Nora, Mrs. Gordon Clauson and his grandson, Michael William Clauson.
Memorial services were held from the Kiron Baptist church Sunday afternoon 12 May 1957 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. L. Ted Johnson officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lindstrom sang "God's Word and Promise' and "Jesus Never Fails" with Ferne Wilson at the organ.
Pallbearers were Lowell Clauson, Leslie Clauson, Walter Anderson, Clarance Waldemar, Joe Stehlik and John Stehlik.
Relatives attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Clauson and son, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Clauson of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson and family of Pocahontas, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carlson of Albert City, Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Moline of Des Moines, Mrs. and Mrs. M. B. O'Banion of LeMars, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansohn of Ida Grove, Mrs. Bill Hansohn of Holstein, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Clauson of Ames and xxxxxx of Deloit, Vail, and Denison.
Interment was in the Kiron cemetery
