A deep gloom was cast over the community last Saturday when it became known that Ethel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Clauson, had passed to the great beyond.

She was taken sick with pneumonia about three weeks ago and three days previous to her death began to grow steadily worse until on Friday night all that loving hands could do seemed in vain and at two o'clock on Saturday morning her spirit took its flight.

Ether Clauson was born on the homestead five miles south of Kiron and was at the time of her death twenty-one years, three months and twelve days of age. Her childhood and girlhood days were spent in the home circle where her sweet, unselfish nature endeared her to all about her. Early in life she became a Christian and joined the Kiron Baptist church by baptism in 1913. She lived a consecrated life and died a triumphant death. She was at the time of life when youth stands waiting at the half open door that leads into a fairer and more promising land, As she would have entered a heavenly messenger whispered, "Come this way, it is best." And she followed him.

Besides her father and mother she leaves to mourn her departure four sisters - Edith, Ruth, Lillian and Myrtle, a number of aunts, uncles and cousins and a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were held from the home at twelve o'clock Monday and at two from the Baptist church conducted by Rev. Peterson assisted by Rev. Cedergren. Six intimate girl friends acted as pall bearers and the members of the Philathea class as honorary pall bearers. Special singing was rendered by the class. The beautiful floral offerings spoke of the heart felt sympathy of many sorrowing friends.
